Find out what City facilities are open and closed this Labour Day – Monday, Sept. 2 – along with changes in seasonal hours after the long weekend.
The following City facilities will be open:
· Aquatic facilities
St. Catharines Kiwanis Aquatics Centre is operating normal hours from 5:30 a.m. until 9:30 p.m., while the Lion Dunc Schooley Pool is open but closes at dusk for the season. Visit stcatharines.ca/pools for admission fees and requirements.
City splash pads at Bogart Street Park, Catherine Street Park, Pearson Park and West Park are open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. until the end of September (weather dependent).
· Garden City Golf Course
Swing on by to the Garden City Golf Course. The City-run golf course will be open from 7:30 a.m. to dusk, weather permitting. Visit stcatharines.ca/Golf for more information or to book your tee time.
· Lakeside Park Carousel
The Lakeside Park Carousel will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Visit stcatharines.ca/Carousel for more information.
After Labour Day, the carousel will be open just on weekends from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.until its closure end of day on Thanksgiving Day, Oct. 14.
· Morningstar Mill
Tour the picturesque Morningstar Mill heritage site at Decew Falls from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Visit stcatharines.ca/MorningstarMill for more information.
· St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Centre
Enjoy exploring the museum galleries and watching ships travel through Lock 3 of the Welland Canal from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is by donation. Learn more about the museum at stcatharinesmuseum.com.
The following City facilities will be closed on Labour Day:
- City Hall
- Dunlop Drive, Port Dalhousie and West St. Catharines older adult centres
- Enterprise Centre
- FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre
- Meridian Centre
- Parks, Recreation and Culture Services administration offices
- Russell Avenue and Port Weller community centres
- Seymour-Hannah Sports and Entertainment Centre, Bill Burgoyne Arena and Garden City Arena Complex
- Victoria Lawn Cemetery administration office

Expect to see more students on the street around the same time as your commute starting Tuesday, Sept. 3. The City reminds residents to be aware and respect directions from crossing guards.

Other important information
St. Catharines Transit will be implementing schedule changes on Sept. 1 along with running on a holiday schedule for Labour Day. Transit will return to its regular schedule on Tuesday, Sept. 3.
