Hey folks – some stuff to do this upcoming long weekend. From City Hall:
Feb. 11, 2019 – With free skating, swimming and other fun activities the City has your Family Day covered. Join us for Family Day in the City Monday, Feb. 18 and enjoy the following fun family activities:
Enjoy free skating from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Seymour-Hannah Sports and Entertainment Centre. Regular rules and supervision requirements apply. Learn more at www.stcatharines.ca/skating.
Enjoy free leisure swims at various times throughout the day at the St. Catharines Kiwanis Aquatics Centre. Regular rules and supervision requirements apply. Leisure swim schedule available at www.stcatharines.ca/swim.
Pop Up PLAY Tent and Fun Zone
Enjoy free games, crafts, the Big Blue Blocks and other fun family activities from noon to 5 p.m. at the St. Catharines Kiwanis Aquatics Centre.
St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Centre
Make lasting Family Day memories at the museum special behind-the-scenes tours, flash light tours and more from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission by donation. Museum is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visit www.stcatharinesmuseum.com for more information.
The FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre
Bring the family to the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre for Family Day fun with Pete the Cat and Emily Brown and the Thing. All tickets $15. Loads of other free family activities available, such as furry friends in the lobby, free puppet workshops with Carousel Players and free animated short films at the Film House, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Visit www.firstontariopac.ca for more information.
The following City of St. Catharines facilities will be closed for Family Day (Feb. 19):
- City Hall
- Enterprise Centre
- Parks, Recreation and Culture Services administration office
- Dunlop Drive, Port Dalhousie and West St. Catharines older adult centres
- Russell Avenue and Port Weller community centres
- Victoria Lawn Cemetery offices (visitation is always available from dawn to dusk)

St. Catharines Transit will operate on its holiday schedule on Family Day, Monday, Feb 18. Transit returns to its regular schedule on Tuesday, Feb. 19. Visit www.yourbus.com for more information about bus schedules and routes.
