From City Hall:
Nov. 29, 2018 – The St. Catharines Farmers’ Market is spreading festive cheer every
Saturday until Christmas.
On Saturday, Dec. 1, 8, 15 and 22, visitors to the farmers’ market will have an
opportunity to enjoy free cookies and samples of hot apple cider, and shoppers will also be able to enjoy activities with the Holiday Discovery Table. The holiday activities take place from 9-11 a.m.
“The farmers’ market is a great way to enjoy your Saturday,” said Elizabeth Fritshaw,
community and market coordinator. “The market will be full of the usual goodies
shoppers enjoy, such as fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, baked goods, flowers, and
artisans, but the cider, cookies and holiday activities will add a real holiday spirit.”
The Holiday Discovery Table will be busy with family friendly activities. Each Saturday
will feature a different theme, including Tree Farms (Dec. 1), Nuts and Seeds (Dec. 8),
Artisans (Dec. 15) and Cookies and Baking (Dec. 22).
The farmers’ market is open year round, including Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. This year it will be closed on Christmas Day (Tuesday, Dec. 25) and New Year’s Day (Tuesday, Jan. 1). Market Square is located at 91 King St.
“The market is a great place to find high quality, fresh food and handmade products,
and a great place to connect with the growers, community and meet your neighbours,”
