Special Event fee waiving in St. Catharines

Apply now to have special event fees waived

Dec. 12, 2017 – The City of St. Catharines invites organizations and event planners with special events in St. Catharines coming up in 2018 to apply to have their City fees waived.

Organizations and event planners with events taking place between January and June 30, 2018 can apply now to have up to 50 per cent of the City fees associated with running single or multi-day events waived. Applications must be submitted by Sunday, Dec. 31.

Fees eligible to be waived include items managed or operated by the City of St. Catharines, such as park permits and rental fees. Items like liability insurance, damage deposits and non-City fees are not eligible under the program.

Interested groups can apply online at http://www.stcatharines.ca/WaivedFees or visit the Seymour-Hannah Sports and Entertainment Centre to complete a paper application form.

“We are proud to partner with our community groups that offer such a great mix of activities and events our residents enjoy,” said Phil Cristi, director of Parks, Recreation and Culture Services. “We want to help where we can and are offering an easy way for community groups to apply for assistance.”

Any individual or organization planning on hosting an event in a City park or facility is eligible to apply, but preference will be given to those events which demonstrate community building and creating partnerships.
